Ms. Lisa Freeman

Hello Ozona Families,

Welcome to the "Ozona Life!" I am thrilled to serve as the principal of Ozona Elementary School. I am looking forward to an outstanding year getting to know the "new to" Ozona students and families, as well as welcoming back current students and families. Part of our school mission is to create student achievement in collaboration with the school community; that's YOU! Assistant Principal Downes and I work side by side with teachers and parents to ensure that each student can achieve at his/her optimum potential. Working together, we can make certain your child's school year is a happy and successful one. We know the teachers and staff are excited to begin the 2026-2027 school year and so are we! 

My experiences include Title I, Achievement Specialist, Assistant Principal and Principal. I have served in Pinellas County as a Principal for 17 years. This will be my 9th year as an Osprey! I am an Equity in Excellence Champion and Gifted micro-credentialed. My strong curriculum background will ensure we meet the learning needs of your children. 

Please know that Mrs. Downes and I are committed to working together with each family to enrich your child’s learning experiences and to make even greater strides in the upcoming school year. I look forward to meeting you and building positive relationships with you this school year.

Mrs. Jessica Downes

I have been in education about 23 years. Pinellas County Schools has been my home for the past 15 years. I graduated from the University of Central Florida with an Undergraduate degree in Early Childhood Education. I obtained my Masters in Educational Leadership from the University of South Florida. Go Bulls! I grew up in Palm Harbor and have been active in the community all my life. I look forward to meeting with you and working with all of our Ozona families!
